What do you need to supply?
Nothing, you do
not even have to be present, Oneteam shears on state of the
art Flockmaster shearing belts (no mains power required). We
carry portable yards and a dog (Merle) for mustering.
How long to get our sheep shorn?
We have a policy of no
longer than three weeks from the time of booking.
Do you cut sheep?
The answer is, on the odd occasion sheep
do get cut, Oneteam minimalisms this by using mohair
shearing combs designed for soft skinned goats, the
reduction has been significant.
What happens with the wool?
Wool has been declining in price
since the 1990’s and is regarded by us as a bi-product, it
is labour intensive to build lines that are saleable. We
take the wool away as a service and will only pay for larger
lines of 20 or more at $1.00 per sheep. You can sell your
wool to brokers in Whangarei like

Why the cost?
Shearing is a tough dirty job, this is made harder by the
sheep we shear on lifestyle blocks. They are generally over
weight, full of grass (this makes them uncomfortable) and
un- crutched. For us to attract good shearers we must pay
better than the average, the average shearer can make
$450.00 to $500.00 per day. They are feed, shear out of the
sun and the mud in a shed and the sheep are in good
condition. We pride ourselves in only having the best
shearers.Shearing Prices
